The Cartagena de Indias area benefits from the presence of the trade winds on a constant basis especially in the trade winds from December to April.

The main beach for kitesurfing is extensive and free of obstacles. The intensity of the wind is not usually very strong and the direction is slightly on-shore from the right, so everything adds up to make beginners also find an ideal spot to take their first steps.

In addition to Cartagena’s own spot, there is also the possibility of making trips to the Barú islands of 1 or several days to enrich the trip. In this area the wind increases slightly in intensity and the landscape changes to enjoy idyllic blue tones of the Caribbean Sea.

If you want to sail on the coast of this beautiful city, we recommend that you head north of the walled city just before reaching La Boquilla. The time when you will find the most favorable weather conditions for kitesurfing is between December and April. If you travel in any of these months, you will enjoy a wind between 11 and 27 knots
